Bracket questions
Why does the bracket show only four Semi-Final teams?
The first-place team in each division gets a bye to the Division Final, so only the second and third seeds play in the Semi-Finals.
Who has home field in each playoff game?
The higher seed always hosts: second place hosts third in the Semi-Final, first place hosts the Division Final. The Grey Cup is at a pre-selected site.
Is this bracket final?
Not yet. It is projected from the current standings and updates after every game until the regular season ends on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
What happens if a West team crosses over?
A fourth-place team with more points than the third-place team in the other division takes that third seed and plays the Semi-Final on the road in the other division. It can still only win the Grey Cup, not its own division.
Can a West team play a West team in the Grey Cup?
Yes, if a crossover team wins the East bracket. It has never happened, but the rules allow it.
Are playoff games single elimination?
Every round is one game. There are no series or best-of formats in the CFL playoffs.
